British Orienteering Ranking List
Missing Score ?
If you are missing a score which you think you should have, there are a
number of possible causes. The most likely reasons are:
- The results for the event in question may not have been submitted yet. If
they appear in the
Event List
try checking the detailed output.
If there are no scores there then the
organiser is probably trying to correct a failed submission.
- Your BOF membership number may be missing from or is incorrect in the
results which were submitted to the ranking list.
- Perhaps it was omitted on
your entry form or you did not know it for entry on the day.
- You may have entered the
event using the wrong BOF number,
so check whether your BOF number has
changed recently, particularly if your class is M/W20.
See the event output for comments.
- A mistake may have been made typing your
number into the system, try using the
submitted results query
form to enquire.
- There may have been no ranked runners in your class - the ranking
system requires at least one ranked runner in order to be able to calculate
any points.
Submitted Results Query
This facility allows you to
enquire
about your entry in the results submitted to the ranking list
in order that you may to check on
your BOF membership number.
Getting it Corrected
If having read the above advice you decide that your lost score really is
missing and should be present, your first line of attack is to contact the
organiser of the event concerned being the person responsible for preparing
the results and submitting them to the ranking list. Often the organiser
delegates this task to someone else and may be able to put you in touch
with the appropriate person.
Organisers will be pleased to be informed
about any mistakes they have made, in fact organisers are encouraged to
submit their results early so that competitors may check their own entries.
A further submission would normally be made a week or two later
after detailed checking and any corrections made.
If you think the fault is due to something wrong with the ranking system
calculations you could contact Mike Cumpstey who may be able to help.
However, Mike is not able to help if the fault is caused by an error in the
submitted results - for these you must contact the event organiser.
